Our Junior Golf Programme helps young golfers learn the fundamentals, build confidence, and enjoy the game in a fun and supportive environment, utilising our world-class training facilities.
We follow the Operation 36 development pathway – a global golf programme where players start from 25 yards and try to shoot 36 for 9 holes. As they improve, the course length increases to challenge their ability and skill level.

McKenzie is a Trainee Professional at Sir Bob Charles Golf Centre, currently in his second year of the PGA Traineeship. He leads Sir Bob’s Junior Programme, delivered in structured 8-week term blocks, creating a clear pathway for young golfers to learn, develop, and enjoy the game.
Within the programme, McKenzie focuses on the fundamentals – grip, setup, swing mechanics, short game and putting – while also introducing key on-course skills such as etiquette, rules, course management, and playing with confidence alongside others. Each session is designed to be fun and engaging, building strong foundations that support long-term progress in the game.
Alongside the Junior Programme, McKenzie coaches players of all levels, from first-timers through to experienced players looking to refine and elevate their game.
Mentored by Rodney Yee, McKenzie brings a calm, detail-driven approach to every lesson. His coaching focuses on helping players understand their own game and make steady, confident progress in the way they train and play.
Operation 36 is a globally recognised golf development programme designed to help players build real on-course skills in a structured, motivating way. Rather than starting on a full-length course, players begin just 25 yards from the hole and play a 9-hole challenge with the goal of shooting 36 (even par).

The Outcome
The junior programme runs in 8-week blocks aligned with the school terms. Each player attends one coaching session per week, delivered by a PGA professional in a small group setting (maximum 6 per class).
The programme is suitable for all ages and abilities, with players grouped by their Operation 36 level. Typically, participants range from around 5 years old through to senior high school students.
Progression is based on Operation 36 results and coach assessment, ensuring each player progresses in the development programme at their own pace. As they advance, players unlock new levels, rewards, and training tools to support their journey.
Each junior receives a starter package when they join the programme.
